Record-breakers Caernarfon Town set new all-time club best in Cymru Premier

Caernarfon Town recorded the biggest win in their Cymru Premier history on Friday night.
A 9-1 drubbing of Cambrian United eclipsed the Cofis’ previous highest victory of 8-0 at home to Barry Town United in 2003-04.
Now in their 22nd season in the top-flight of Welsh domestic football, Caernarfon have played 714 league matches, but until September 18, 2026, had never scored nine goals in a WPL fixture.
What was more remarkable about Friday’s feat was the fact nine separate players made the scoresheet.
Despite Ashley Evans firing the visitors in front after 16 minutes, Caernarfon hit back to lead 3-1 at halt time through Zack Clarke’s 10th goal of the campaign, Paulo Mendes and Jake Canavan.
Town also had goalkeeper Connor Roberts red-carded in the 35th minute, Joshua Beecher of Cambrian also being dismissed at the same stage.
Young Hari Thomas took over in goal for the Canaries and kept a clean sheet.
After the interval, the visitors also had Kyle Jones sent off on 54 minutes. Caernarfon then ran riot against the nine men.
Sion Bradley (penalty), Adrian Cieslewicz, Ryan Sears, Noah Edwards, Matty Jones and sub Offrande Zanzala all scored before the end.
