Denbigh Town stormed clear at the Reserve League North peak tonight with a 5-1 thrashing of rivals Ruthin in the Vale of Clwyd derby.
Both sides were unbeaten heading into the top-of-the-table clash, but only one still held that status at the final whistle.
Star of the show for the hosts was the ever-consistent Rhys Lloyd, who notched his second hat-trick of the campaign to make it 10 goals in five games for the 18-year-old.
Lloyd found the net after 12, 35 and 73 minutes, while also on target were Jacob Duffy and 16-year-old Sonny Mead, who recorded his first goal for the team.
Seth Evans replied for well-beaten Ruthin early in the second half.
