North Wales Coast Women’s League: Denbigh fight back to win at Trearddur Bay

NORTH WALES COAST WOMEN’S LEAGUE
Trearddur Bay 1 (McMullan 35)
Denbigh Town 4 (Duke 45, Morris 60, Evans 80, Williams 84)

Denbigh recovered from going a goal behind to begin their league campaign with an away victory.
Both sides gave their all at Lon Isallt with the final score perhaps not reflective of the match overall, but the visitors had the edge in finding the net.
Bay took a 35th minute lead when Shelley McMullan scored direct from a corner.
McMullan was the home side’s player of the match for her 100 percent commitment from first whistle to last.
It looked like the Anglesey hosts would lead at half time, but in the 45th minute Denbigh levelled when Alicia Duke scored from a free kick about 25 yards out.

Town went 2-1 up on the hour when Lucy Morris headed home from a Cara Jones corner.
Sophie Evans showed good opportunism to grab a third goal for the Vale of Clwyd side on 80 minutes.
The former Henllan player nipped in to gather the ball from an opposition goal kick, ran into the box and applied a fine finish.
Lleucu Williams rounded things off with a run and cracking strike from outside the box.
