RGC unveil charity of the year

Players from the Rygbi Gogledd Cymru Academy hosted the Tŷ Gobaith Tiger and even gave them a rugby lesson.

Rygbi Gogledd Cymru (RGC) have announced Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices as their charity of the year for the 2026/27 season.

The region’s premier sporting side will be financially and practically supporting the hospices who care for 750 local children and families living with a life-threatening condition.

They will be helping through initiatives like donating a percentage of ticket sales, sponsored events, player involvement and wearing a special match shirt.

RGC’s General Manager, Alun Pritchard shared: “RGC is proud to support Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices as our official charity this year.

“The incredible work they do for children living with life-threatening conditions and their families across North Wales makes a real difference every day.

“We are honoured to help raise awareness and vital funds for such an important cause.”

The team are also kindly sponsoring the hospices’ Midnight Pyjama Walk in September and lending their Stadiwm Eirias home as the starting point.

Tŷ Gobaith fundraiser, Courtney Harris is working closely with the club and said: “RGC are more than just a team – they are a real part of their community, and their work goes way beyond that on the field.

“They are an ideal partner for us as they share our values and are a focal point for many local families.

“We are all looking forward to creating many memories together for our families and are truly grateful to all at RGC.”
