Magic Mariam makes more history for Wrexham AFC Women!

Wrexham AFC Women attacking midfielder Mariam Mahmood has achieved a major first!

After representing Pakistan in April, Mariam became the first ever Wrexham AFC Women’s player to appear on the club’s international honours board.

Mariam, 22, joined Wrexham at the start of last season from West Bromwich Albion.

She quickly became a fans’ favourite, her energetic displays being a key feature in the Red Dragons winning the Adran Premier title for the first time, as well as lifting  the Genero Adran Trophy.

During the 2025-26 season, Mariam made 18 appearances for Wrexham and netted 10 goals, specialising in some spectacular strikes.

On 29 March 2026, Mariam became the first Pakistani female footballer to win a European top-tier league title. On the same day, her club, Wrexham, were crowned Adran Premier champions, securing qualification for the 2026–27 UEFA Women’s Champions League.

In June 2025, Mariam received her first callup to the Pakistan women’s national squad as part of a contingent of six diaspora players preparing for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification round in Jakarta. 

Her selection followed discussions in late 2024 about her availability to choose between England and Pakistan at senior level. In July 2025, She scored 2 goals against Kyrgyzstan.

To date she has won six caps, scoring three goals.
