Connor Evans becomes Bangor City 1876’s seventh new signing of the summer
A Wales Under-18 striker who has played for Crewe Alexandra and Chester and featured in the Cymru Premier for Caernarfon Town and Bala Town last season has become Bangor City 1876’s newest recruit.
Connor Evans, 22, was announced as the Cymru North club’s latest addition this evening.
He joins John Danby, Haci Ozlu, Jack Burman, Max Purvis, Guto Williams and Blaine Hudson as fresh arrivals at Bangor City Stadium this summer.
Prior to a name change, Connor Salisbury made his Crewe debut, aged 18, on 4 January 2022 in an EFL Trophy knockout game against Rotherham United as an 85th-minute substitute for Regan Griffiths at Gresty Road, and subsequently made five substitute appearances in league matches before the end of the season.
On 15 August 2022, Crewe announced that the striker had become known as Connor Evans in order to have the same surname as his mother and stepfather.
On 7 October 2022, Evans joined Marine on an initial one-month loan which was later extended. In February 2023, Evans switched to Nantwich Town on loan until the end of the season.
August 2023 saw Evans land at Chester on loan until November 2023. Following his return to Crewe, Evans scored his first professional goal in the club’s 2–1 win over Newcastle United U21s in an EFL Trophy group stage game,
Three days later, he returned on loan to Marine, until 10 January 2024.
On 22 February 2024, Evans signed for League of Ireland Premier Division club Waterford, but nine months later he departed the club following the end of his contract.
On 17 January 2025, Evans joined National League North side Southport on a short-term contract.
Then in June 2025, he put pen to paper for Caernarfon Town.
Evans netted on his debut for the Cofis after coming on as a late substitute in a 3-0 Nathaniel MG Cup win over Colwyn Bay on August 1, 2025. He scored again in a 6-1 Cymru Premier triumph over Llanelli Town 15 days later.
Evans had made 23 appearances for Caernarfon’s first team, bagging four goals, before joining Bala Town in February 2026, spending the rest of the campaign on loan with the relegated Lakesiders. Caernarfon announced today that Evans had left the club.
Evans played for the Wales under-18s in March 2021 against England.
