Congratulations to David Moulson on reaching the incredible milestone of 700 wickets for Abergele Cricket Club.
David joined the club in 2003 as a 14-year-old, and now, in his 23rd season, he continues to be one of the most consistent and influential players to wear the blue and green with pride.
His remarkable career in numbers:
2007, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025.
A club tribute said: “Throughout his time at Abergele CC, we’ve also watched David’s family grow. He married Charlotte, who enjoys running our social media and spending many evenings and weekends taking their boys to training and fixtures. It has been fantastic to see Harry, Oliver and Finley follow in their dad’s footsteps and proudly represent Abergele in our junior section.
“David’s contribution extends far beyond taking wickets. Whenever he finds a spare moment between family life, which isn’t often, you’ll find him helping to coach our junior players, stepping in to umpire when needed, or supporting teammates on and off the field.
“For more than two decades, David has been the definition of loyalty, commitment and consistency. Reaching 700 wickets is an extraordinary achievement that reflects not only his talent, but also his dedication to Abergele Cricket Club.”
Another 17 victims will make David the all-time highest wicket-taker for Abergele’s first team.
Richard Lewis is the current top of the crop.
NOTE (quote from Dave Jones): I used to attend and report on North Wales matches and sometimes on my visits to Abergele CC I would help run the scorebook. I remember young David Moulson breaking into the first team very well. He’s a very good batsman as well as a prolific bowler. His dad used to help me with the scorebook in those early days.
