Management team appointed to run Foresters’ new women’s development side

Foresters women’s development team managers Sam Fitchette-May and Llion Hamer

Wrexham Foresters have appointed a management team to run the club’s new women’s development side which will enter the Central Wales North Ladies League this season.

The first team are already rising up the pyramid, having won the Central Wales title last season before beating Llangefni Town on penalties in a play-off to reach the Tier 2 Adran North.

Now the plan is to introduce a second team to give the women’s football project at the club more strength in depth.

Foresters already have a thriving junior section and this season have entered a men’s team into the North East Wales Football League for the first time.

The women’s development team has Sam Fitchette-May as head coach, with Llion Hamer his assistant.

A club statement said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Fitchette-May as Head Coach of Wrexham Foresters FC Women’s Development Squad. He will be assisted by Llion Hamer.

“A pair of great coaches with a strong background in performance analysis, Sam and Llion bring exactly the kind of B license quality and detail we want running our development programme.

“The coaching department is growing. And it’s growing with purpose.”

Kirstie Kural, North Wales women’s football top-scorer with 66 goals last season, will continue to lead the women’s first team as player-manager this season.

Foresters’ women’s section are keen to attract new players with emphasis on a Goalkeeper. Anyone interested can get in touch via the advert placed in this article.
