HOLYHEAD TOWN
Kane Astles (Holyhead Hotspur Development to Holyhead Town)
Proven goalscorer Astles is a big capture for The Harbourmen.
Formerly with Betws-y-Coed, Trearddur Bay Development and CPD Boded, Astles made an instant impact for Holyhead Hotspur Development last season by scoring a hat-trick on debut in an 8-0 drubbing of CPD Pwllheli – Tim Datblygu.
Astles went on to score 18 goals in 17 league appearances, helping Scott Hakesley’s side win the treble of NWCFA Development West Division title, League Cup and Development League Final.
Now the 25-year-old takes on a fresh challenge at North Wales Coast West Division One team Holyhead Town.
A club statement said: “Kane is a player our management team has monitored closely throughout the 2025/26 season. As soon as his availability became known, the club moved rapidly to secure his services.
“He joins the Harbourmen boasting a phenomenal record from last season, having netted an impressive 18 league goals in just 17 appearances.
“We are absolutely delighted that Kane has chosen to lead the line and take the number 9 shirt at Holyhead Town. His energy, enthusiasm, and hunger for success this pre-season have been infectious.
“Adding a player of Kane’s calibre to our attack will provide a massive boost as we look to build on last season’s cup success and 4th-place league finish.”
Eric Leach (to Holyhead Town)
Aged 33, this strong and athletic defender has vast experience playing for the likes of Bodedern Athletic, Caergybi and CPD Boded.
He won the Tier 4 North Wales Coast West League Premier Division title with Athletic in 2021-22.
Holyhead Town report Leach has slotted straight in with the group and will be a key player for the team this season.
Troy Patrick Williams (to Holyhead Town)
Seventeen-year-old who was a Holyhead Hotspur Under-17 player last season having previously come through the ranks at Trearddur Bay.
Now comes a first step into senior football with The Harbourmen.
A Holyhead Town statement said: “Troy trained with the club last pre-season but decided to finish his journey in youth football last season.
“Troy was a player we were keen to bring into the club and he is getting up to speed quickly. He has great potential and could be a breakout player for the team this season.”
BETHESDA ATHLETIC
Benn Lundstram (Penmaenmawr Phoenix to Bethesda Athletic)
Striker Benn returns to Bethesda where he joins brother Corey in the squad.
The Lundstram family has a strong connection with the Howgets as dad Mike is also a former Parc Meurig star.
Benn, 24, played for Bangor City 1876 in their debut season, scoring the team’s first-ever goal in a friendly at FC United of Manchester.
Later in that 2019-20 season he moved on to Llanrwst United, where he remained into the 2021-22 campaign.
Joined Penmaenmawr Phoenix in February 2022, netting twice on debut in a 5-1 league win at Kinmel Bay.
Moved to Bethesda at the start of 2022-23, netting six goals in his first three outings for the then Tier 4 side and 10 in his first 9 games. Won the North Wales Coast West Premier Division title with Pesda, elevating to the Tier 3 Ardal North West League.
Benn switched to Penmaenmawr in October 2023 and became a regular marksman for the Under-21s in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaigns.
Hit 13 goals in 13 matches for Pen’s U21s last season, making it an overall 29 goals in 43 appearances with the team.
BUCKLEY TOWN
Dylan Proctor (Llandudno to Buckley Town)
Striker who was Ardal North West League top-scorer in 2024-25 for champions CPD Y Rhyl 1879, netting 28 goals.
Joined Cymru North title-winners Llandudno early last season, notching four goals in 26 appearances, but played the full 90 minutes just twice.
While Tudno have risen to the Cymru Premier, Proctor will remain at Tier 2 level with Buckley, who are managed by Dave Evans.
Evans said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring Dylan to Buckley. He’s coming to us after a successful season with Llandudno, but what really impressed me was his desire to play regular football and continue improving.
“That mentality is exactly what we want at this football club. We know he’ll bolster our top line, and he’s proven he knows where the back of the net is. This is a fantastic signing for Buckley Town and another statement of the ambition we have as a club. We’re excited to see what Dylan can achieve in a Buckley shirt.”
Joe Sullivan (Ruthin Town to Buckley Town)
Former Gresford Athletic, Ruthin Town and Bangor 1876 player who spent last season in the Cymru North with promoted Holywell Town, scoring three goals in his first four games and making 17 appearances in all.
Throughout his career, he has built a reputation as a hard-working, reliable player whose energy and commitment set the standard every time he steps onto the pitch.
As well as the quality he brings on match days, his professionalism and experience will be invaluable around the dressing room. His attitude, leadership and desire to improve those around him are exactly the qualities Buckley wants.
Manager Dave Evans said: “We’re really pleased to bring Sully to Buckley. He’s someone I’ve admired for a long time because of the standards he sets every day. His experience at this level, combined with his energy and professionalism, will not only strengthen the squad but will also help push the younger lads on. He’s a fantastic character to have around the club, and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact he’ll make both on and off the pitch.”
PENYCAE
Ben Dawson (Four Crosses to Penycae)
Defender Ben Dawson is the latest arrival at Afoneitha Road.
Dawson, 28, transfers from Tier 4 Four Crosses where he was named in the MMP Central Wales League Team of the Season.
Prior to that he was part of the promotion-winning Brickfield Rangers which topped Ardal North East in 2024-25..
Penycae manager Dan Richards said: “Delighted Ben has chose to join Penycae. He’s been a stand out across our pre-season sessions so far with his quality and fitness levels. He’ll bring a great balance to the team with him being able to play all down our left side.”
CEFN ALBION
Aaron Stockton (Buckley Town to Cefn Albion)
An exciting new opportunity in Tier 3 for this talented teenager.
17-year-old signs from Buckley Town, having featured for the U23s, made two first-team appearances, and spent time on loan at Chirk AAA.
Stockton said: “I’m delighted to be joining Cefn Albion. After speaking to the coaches and meeting the players and seeing there is a real chance of promotion, it was a no-brainer.
“I’m looking forward to developing in an Albion shirt and can’t wait to get going.”
MELIDEN
Gareth Walsh (to Meliden)
Defensive colossus, hugely experienced, returns to re-formed Meliden for the 2026-27 season.
The 41-year-old is probably best known for his successes with Prestatyn Sports where he was part of the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League quadruple-winning squad of 2014-15.
Other past clubs include Stockport County and Rhuddlan Town, while last season he represented the title-winning Prestatyn Sports Veterans team.
James Sweetman from the Meliden management team said: “A player that needs no introduction. A veteran around these leagues and someone that still has his signature on our orange wall of fame. Strong in the air, physical when needed but plays football elegantly, always wants the ball at his feet and willing to help in both boxes defending or scoring goals. Can’t wait to work closely with Gaz as we all know what to expect.”
Jake Twist (to Meliden)
After spells with Llysfaen and Crozzy in recent seasons, this 25-year-old defender is a new face at Meliden for 2026-27.
James Sweetman: “A full-back full of energy who reads the game very well, not afraid to get stuck in and will graft for us when asked to do a job.
” Having worked closely with Twisty and him knowing how I want the lads to push themselves to their limit, he is a perfect fit for us on and off the field.”
Luke Snape (to Meliden)
Another with plenty of experience at various clubs whose knowhow can only be an asset to Meliden.
Former clubs include Betws-y-Coed, Arriva, Glan Conwy, Llanrwst United and Bethesda Rovers.
James Sweetman: “Having briefly come across him over the last few years, we knew what he could bring for us and watching him he hasn’t disappointed us. An eye for goal with lightning pace, he will surely add a different dimension to our game.”
