Llangefni Town Ladies recruit second top-class keeper who is a Tier 2 title-winner

Megan Skelly-Robinson

Llangefni Town have strengthened their goalkeeping options by signing a second top-class stopper.

The Tier 3 North Wales Coast League champions have signed Megan Skelly-Robinson from Llandudno to vie with Katie Spruce for the number one jersey.

Manager Dan Gregg explained: “Her and Katie Spruce are best friends and are going to work it between themselves this season. Katie was fantastic last season and Meg will bring massive experience to our squad.”

Last season’s other squad keeper at Cefni, Mia Gleave, has now completed her studies at Bangor University and is leaving the area.

Skelly-Robinson, 32, has a wealth of experience from her engagements in Tier 2.

In 2021-22, she started off in Tier 3 with the CPD Y Rhyl 1879 team which won the North Wales Women’s League title, making six appearances, before joining Adran North side Connah’s Quay Nomads in the closing weeks of the campaign and featured in two games.

She remained at Nomads in 2022-23, making 20 appearances and winning the North East Wales FA Women’s Challenge Cup.

In 2023-24, Skelly-Robinson moved to Llandudno, where she played in 19 matches for the Adran North league title winners.

She remained at Llandudno for the next two seasons, making another 30 appearances. Last term she kept back-to-back clean sheets in draws against undefeated champions Nomads.

Now comes a new adventure in 2026-27 with Tier 3 Cefni, who will be going all out to win a second successive North Wales Coast League title as they bid to secure a well-deserved promotion.
