How is the Tier 3 North Wales Coast Women’s League shaping up for the 2026-27 season?

Although the list of teams involved in the North Wales Coast Women’s League this season has not been officially released, it is believed some new names will feature, while one or two others say their farewells.

Known as the NWC Llandudno Kia Women’s League, there are expected to be 12 teams in the list of runners and riders.

Last season the league had just nine teams, but it there are 12 this term that will make for 22 matches per side – an increase of six from 2025-26.

It is believed CPDM Henllan and Llanystumdwy have withdrawn from the league.

Amlwch Town
A welcome return for the long-established Anglesey side after a season’s break from football.
The man who did so much to establish the team in its early days, Andrew ‘Lefty’ Wright, will be manager, with Lauren Bate his assistant.

Caernarfon Town
Finished third-bottom last season, but produced some good performances and possess a number of promising players.

Denbigh Town
Former North Wales League champions and ex-Tier 2 competitors. Finished eighth of nine last season, but have signed some good players this summer including Loz Jones, Alicia Duke, Rosie O’Brien, Mabli Fitzgerald and Holly Lowe. Experienced Aled Davies in charge.

Holyhead Hotspur
Exciting newcomers, a young side which has progressed through the junior ranks and now set to test themselves out in the seniors.
Teenager Ellie Murphy has already represented Ynys Môn and enjoyed a sparkiing debut against Isle of Man.

Kinmel Bay
Runners-up last season and expected to be strong again with some very experienced and accomplished players in the ranks.
Millie Sergent will replace the departing Shelby Wild as goalkeeper this season.

Llangefni Town
Reigning champions and surely the team to beat in 2026-27.
The return of prolific markswoman Jess Jones, plus the additions of Jess Woods and Milly Lowe will only increase their firepower, while in goal they have two top-class stoppers in Katie Spruce and Megan Robinson-Skelly.

NFA
Finished top four last season, but have lost a few quality players to other clubs so it remains to be seen how they shape up in 2026-27.

Prestatyn Sports
Brand new team with Mikey McClelland and Ste Falvey joint managers.
Have signed players from NFA and Henllan this summer and have some experienced performers on board.

CPD Pwllheli
After back-to-back North East Wales League title wins, Pwllheli had to be content with a top four finish last term, but they won the league cup to make it six trophies in three seasons.
Packed with talent and experience, they are expected to go well, but the loss of keeper Sara Williams to recreational football is a gap that needs addressing.

Rhos United
Another brand new team enters the league. Will be interesting to see how they adjust.

Towyn
New faces aiming to make their mark. Both the Towyn men’s and ladies teams have been launched this summer.
The experienced Frank Standing, who holds a long association with women’s and girls football in Kinmel Bay, will be at the helm for Towyn ladies.
Towyn will be the Kinmel Bay Under-17s side from last season, so expect some quality young talent to make an impact.

Trearddur Bay
Currently seeking a new manager. Anyone interested can contact the club via its social media.
Finished bottom of the league last season and have lost their star forward Jess Woods to Llangefni Town, but still retain some good players.
