Triple signing for North Wales Coast champions Llangefni

Three new signings have been announced by Llangefni Town Ladies today.

Striker Jess Woods has arrived from Trearddur Bay. goalkeeper Megan Robinson-Skelly moves over from Llandudno and Ffion Thomas is back with Cefni after a spell at Bangor City 1876 Women.

Woods, 21, is a razor-sharp attacker who joined Trearddur at the start of 2024-25 and netted an outstanding 22 goals in 24 appearances for the Lon Isallt side.

Her stats are in keeping with other prolific scorers Cefni have fielded over the past five seasons including Jess Jones, Jen Cox and Ellie Coulson.

Woods notched 11 goals in her first five matches for Trearddur Bay and ended her debut season having found the net 16 times.

Last season her availability was restricted, but she still managed to bag six goals in 12 North Wales Coast League outings.

Robinson–Skelly, 32, has a wealth of experience in Tier 2.

In 2021-22, she started off in Tier 3 with the CPD Y Rhyl 1879 team which won the North Wales Women’s League title, making six appearances, before joining Adran North side Connah’s Quay Nomads in the closing weeks of the campaign.

She remained at Nomads in 2022-23, making 20 appearances and winning the North East Wales FA Women’s Challenge Cup.

In 2023-24, Skelly-Robinson moved to Llandudno, where she played in 19 matches for the Adran North title winners.

She stayed with Llandudno for the next two seasons, making another 30 appearances.

Thomas, 30, a left winger, joined Llangefni in their debut 2021-22 campaign.

She has made 65 appearances for Cefni, pocketing 27 goals, joining CPDM Y Felinheli for a short spell in 2024-25, before signing for CPDM Bangor last season and scoring twice on debut in a 3-2 victory against Pwllheli.

Thomas made 15 appearances in total for the Citizens, scoring four goals, before rejoining Llangefni today.
