Llanberis’ new manager is a very familiar name at the club

Nidian Huws is the new manager at CPD Llanberis

There could be no more suitable person to take over the manager’s role at CPD Llanberis than club stalwart Nidian Caffo Huws.

The 37-year-old defender has spent the vast majority of his career at Ffordd Padarn, where among the many highlights include lifting the North Wales Coast West Premier Cup in 2023-24

Huws signed for Llanberis juniors at 11 after football stopped in the junior section at CPD Deiniolen.

He played half a season for Llanberis Reserves when he was 16 and then progressed to the first team.

Huws signed for Llanfairpwll in summer 2006, where he played for three and a half seasons in the Cymru Alliance, then rejoined the Darans.

Half a season at Caernarfon Town followed in 2011-12 and he has been with Llanberis ever since, making an estimated 500+ appearances.

The new man takes over from Carwyn Jones, who stepped down recently after eight years in charge,

Huws said: “I’m just really grateful and excited to be taking over at Llanberis. It’s a club that means a lot to me.

“I have played under some very very good managers and am looking forward to putting my own stamp on the team. Big thank you to Carwyn for 8 incredible years. I can’t wait to get started and am looking forward to the challenge.”
