Cefn Albion manager Phil Hudson has appointed the experienced and highly-regarded Iain Bennett as his assistant for the 2026-27 season.

A UEFA A licence holder, Bennett brings with him an impressive CV, having coached at Liverpool FC International Academy, been head of development at Connah’s Quay Nomads and was former assistant to Craig Hogg at Colwyn Bay between July 2020 and December 2021.

Bennett is also forever etched in Llandudno Junction FC history as the manager who led them to their highest playing level ever – the Tier 2 Cymru Alliance in 2017-18.

The new man is a very familiar face to Albion chief Hudson, who had Bennett on board his coaching team at Ruthin Town in 2022-23.

Bennett said: “I’m really excited to get started. After speaking to Philly and previously working with him, it was an easy decision with a club who has huge ambitions to kick on and play at a higher level.

I know from speaking to Philly, we have a talented group of players and an excellent fan base. I’m looking forward to meeting the group and starting pre pre-season.”

Hudson added: “I’ve been on to Benno about coming in with me since I was considering the role here. It was imperative that I got someone who I trust and have a good working relationship with and Benno ticked all the boxes.

“He’s a top coach, knows the game inside out and I’m delighted to now finally have him on board. With Benno coming in, that completes the management team me, Benno, Jamie Foulkes, Andy Roberts, Jack Richards and Chris Mullen. Now it’s time to go to work.”

Cefn Albion will compete in the Tier 3 Ardal North East League in 2026-27. The club has already arranged six pre-season fixtures:
