Mochdre Sports lifted the Cookson Cup for the first time in their history and became the 34th team to etch their name on the prestigious trophy.
Not since landing the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Cup in 2013-14 had Sports scooped a prize as prestigious as they paraded at Bastion Gardens, Prestatyn, on Saturday.
In a hard-fought battle with North Wales Coast East Premier Division runners-up and Tier 3 bound Kinmel Bay, Sports defended solidly throughout to deny their usually free-scoring opponents a goal throughout the 120 minutes which incorporated extra time.
So it went down to penalties, and Mochdre emerged victorious 5-3 to be crowned Cookson Cup winners for 2025-26.
Successful kick-takers for the cup winners were: Scott Roberts, Paddy Hold, Niall Owen, Gareth Jones and Kai Davies, with keeper Nic Bould producing a vital save 3-3.
