NWCFA Development League: Hotspur reach cup final, Kinmel Bay on verge of East title

Hotspur remained well on course for a league and cup double as they walloped in six at Mochdre on Thursday evening.
The undefeated West Division champions expected a difficult battle against one of the East’s best, and it did get interesting when after taking a three-goal lead into the break, the Holy Islanders were pegged back to 3-2, but it all ended well for Scott Hakesley’s side.
Jordan Rowlands set the ball rolling by giving Hotspur an eighth-minute advantage before a double from 16-year-old Lucas Garmey put the visitors in charge at the interval.
Credit to Mochdre, they cut the deficit to one after Thomas Wardle scored on 51 and 55 minutes, Scott Roberts and Soloman Moore with the assists.
However, Holyhead took a significant step towards the final when Huw Morris made it 4-2 with 69 on the clock.
Sean Pritchard and Luca Meek then made sure with further goals on 86 and 90.
That made it 23 wins and a draw from 24 matches in all competitions for Hotspur, who still have a league game at Pwllheli to come, as well as the cup final versus Penmaenmawr Phoenix Development, which will take place at Cae Rhosfain, Gaerwen, on Sunday, May 10, 2.30 pm kick-off.

Llandegai completed a double over the Darans, Tadala David Chigamba, Leon Williams, Shaun Morris and Denvor Chigamba their marksmen, Aron Thomas and Jonathan Cyster (pen) replying.

Nantlle Vale Development 0 CPD Pwllheli – Tim Datblygu 2

After Robin Thomas missed a penalty for Pwllheli the visitors went on to win with goals from sub Cai Tate and an Osian Williams spot-kick.

CPD Nefyn United – Tim Datblygu 3 Bontnewydd Development 0

Gwern Williams (2) and Carwyn Trenholme delivered the vital goals for the Penwaig.

One point from their final game at home to Conwy Borough Swifts Development this Sunday should clinch the East Division title for Kinmel Bay Development.
The leaders put themselves in pole position with a 5-1 triumph at Mochdre Sports Development at the weekend.
Tate Walker (2), Christian Akoha, Lewie Foston and Jacob Jones (pen) split the goals for the visitors, Riley Cranham having initially handed Mochdre an early lead.

Harry Birchall (2), captain Allen Padua and Mei Evans produced the scoresheet entries for second-place Phoenix, Bryn Williams providing Tudno’s response.

CPD Y Glannau Tim Datblygol 1 Glan Conwy Development 4

Hat-trick hero Cyril Carey moved up to 27 club goals this season for Glan Conwy after scoring on 65, 70 and 71 minutes in Sunday’s victory at Y Glannau.
Carey missed a penalty, Jack Martins also on target for the travellers, Josh Parry the home hitman.

Sean Pritchard (3 goals) and Lucas Garmey paired up to earn Hotspur victory at Ffordd Padarn.
Manager of the champions, Scott Hakesley, runs us through the game.
He said: “The young lads got off to a flying start when 16 year old Lucas Garmey found Sean Pritchard to slot home. Lucas then got on the end of a Melv McGinness pass to make it 2-0
“The front two caused so many problems, once again combining with Sean finding his second.
“Jake Bell supplied Sean’s 3rd to take us into the break comfortably 4-0 to the good.
“With the team facing 3 games in 7 days it was so important to utilise everybody involved with young Lucas Roberts not only making his senior debut but keeping a very impressive clean sheet.
“16 year old Liam Moore, another of our under 17s, also made his senior debut – congratulations to both with impressive performances.
“With several changes being made the game became scrappy in the second half and Hotspur were happy with the work done.
“Today’s MOTM goes to Sean Pritchard, however we were extremely pleased with the strength in depth on show.
“With 3 out of the 4 staff working, it was vital we provided the lads with experience and there’s nobody better than our first team manager Daz Garmey. Daz knows exactly how we’re playing at the moment and with help from GK coach Andy Devs, well done to all.”

Osian Williams (2, 1 pen) and Cai Tate clinched the points for Pwllheli, an Anthony Williams pair, one a spot-kick, running Gaerwen close.

CPD Llanfairpwll Development 2 Bontnewydd Development 2

Toby Hockin scored twice, including an 88th minute leveller, to earn Llanfairpwll a point, captain Sion Kelly bagging both for Bont.
The visitors had Dion Jones sent off on 86 for a second yellow.

CPD Nefyn United – Tim Datblygu 1 Llanrug United Development 1

Llyr Evans nudged Nefyn ahead from a 42nd minute penalty, but the ever-consistent Joshua Evans hit back on 83 for Llanrug to salvage his team a point.

Trearddur Bay Development 8 CPD Mynydd Llandegai Development 1

Sixteen-year-old Leo Morris pocketed his second hat-trick of the season in Trearddur Bay’s thumping victory.
Thomas Lennon, Harri Hughes, Harri Jones, Michael Jones and an Osian Sherlock own goal made up the home eight, Denvor Chigamba with a consolation for the visitors.
