North East Wales Football League news with Shaun Best

Congratulations goes to FC Queen’s Park, who were crowned Division One champions following another emphatic victory – their 15th in a row in the league.

Meanwhile, defeat for Hawarden Rangers has given Broughton United the chance to strengthen their grip on second place when they next take to the field. The victories for Rhostyllen and Saltney Town leave both in the upper half of the table.

Brymbo’s victory against Holywell United means that Cefn Druids will finish bottom of Division Two. Over in Division Three, CPD Cei Connah are finishing their season with a flourish after picking up a third consecutive league victory.

Brickfield’s Kian Davies stretched his lead at the top of the scoring charts in Reserve Division One. Brickfield’s emphatic victory at Saltney Town moved them up to third in the table.

In Reserve Division Two, FC Queen’s Park surrendered a two goal lead and had to settle for a point at Castell Alun Colts.

However, with three games in hand on leaders Broughton United and only a three point gap to make up, Queen’s Park will be confident of adding another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet in the coming weeks.
