Ardal North East League: Cefn Albion pocket two great wins, four sent off in late storm at Corwen

Cefn Albion 4 Llangollen Town 1

After being forced to play a NEWFA Challenge Cup tie on Tuesday at Holywell Town – where they lost 4-0 – Albion produced a fantastic response to pick up three league points 24 hours later.
After a goalless first half, Aaron Jones edged Llangollen in front, but Cefn rallied to win the game with four goals in the last 18 minutes, Edgar Lima Teixeira with a double before Calum Butler and Alex Williams also found the net.

Llanfair United 4 Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 1

Tomos Jones and captain Jack Jones scored two goals apiece in this emphatic Llanfair win, Gruff Evans responding.

Corwen 1 CPD Rhos Aelwyd 1

Four late sendings off made for a stormy end to a game which ended all-square at the War Memorial Ground.
Captain Scott Evans gave Corwen a 49th minute lead, but Ryan Jenkins equalised on 54.
All hell let loose after the game had passed the 90-minute mark.
Sub James Davies and Kien Harrison both saw red for the hosts, while for Rhos, Adam Peters received his marching orders for two yellows before Jenkins was shown a straight red.

Dolgellau Athletic 0 Cefn Albion 1

Albion upset the odds with a great result away to a Dolgellau side which was unbeaten in their last six outings – five of them wins.
Kien Morris produced the winning goal on 83 minutes for Cefn, who brought all their fighting qualities to the fore.

Kerry 1 Llangollen Town 2

Charles Parkinson struck twice to seal a seventh win in nine league outings for Llangollen.
Luke Mumford hit back with a penalty for Kerry, all three goals arriving in the opening half hour.

Knighton Town 1 Llanrhaeadr 2

Surprise result at Bryn-y-Castell where Garmon Evans (pen) and Joshua Bowen handed Llanrhaeadr a two-goal lead inside 16 minutes.
There was no addition to the scoreboard until the 96th minute, when Sam Hoyle baggied a consolation for high-flying Knighton.

Lex XI 1 Llanfair United 2

Still no luck for Lex.
The bottom side led 1-0 at half time, but goals on 65 and 90 from Josh Astley clinched the spoils for Llanfair.

CPD Llanuwchllyn 7 Builth Wells 1

Title secured for Llanuwchllyn after hitting Builth for seven.
Meilir Williams (3, 1 pen)< Gwydion Roberts (2), Aled Parry and Steffan Dolben shared the goals for the runaway champions, Seth Bridgeman with Wells’ consolation.
Llanuwchllyn’s achievement was reported on in depth by Grassroots North Wales on Saturday.

Penycae 3 Llandrindod Wells 2

Dominic Deacon’s 94th minute decider ensured Penycae made it four straight league wins.
Deacon and Callum Roberts added further goals for the Cae, who rise to third in the standings, Darren Murphy and sub Robert Nicholls for the visitors.

Radnor Valley 4 Bow Street 4

An eight-goal thriller ended with the sides taking a point each.
Matthew Crosses, Jack Clarke, Lewis Morris and Joey Price split the home haul, Courtney Perkins, Joshua Taylor, Ryan Evans and Tomos Roberts’ 89th minute equaliser earning the travellers a draw.
