Scott Hakesley – congratulations Scott! – talks us through today’s game….
“Easter Sunday found ourselves welcoming local club Trearddur Bay to the New Stadium.
“With derbies all form goes out the window. However we know our place and what we want to achieve and all the squad are zoned in with what can be achieved. So firstly want to congratulate my lads, to a man been superb and can’t thank them enough for their conduct throughout the season.

“Secondly it takes 2 teams to put on a show in front of a very nice crowd today and Trearddur Bay played their part.
“As the game got underway we found ourselves against Storm Dave’s wind but Ryan Woodruff creating several chances with eventually today’s MOTM Cameron James Buckley finding the net seemed to calm things down and got us playing some nice football.
“Like with all derbies, challenges started to fly in with Noel Owen coming off with a serious knee problem. As we continued to draw the fouls Woodruff once again found Cameron to take us in half time comfortably 2-0.
“Change of shape at half time to stretch Trearddur Bay and knowing our fitness and determination would take over, we found ourselves creating numerous chances.
“Casey Gregg found Cameron Buckley for his hat-trick, then roles reversing – Gregg with a outstanding effort to make it 4-0
“Up steps Jake Chapman not only keeping another clean sheet, but finds himself on the scoresheet with a goal from his own 18 yard box.
“The game wouldn’t have been as good today without Steve Driedyk. Not only did he let every player know he was there today but 100% deserved his goal from outside the box and could have easily taken MOTM.
“Cameron was then brought down and dusted himself off to slot home the penalty to make it a blue and white day 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
“With the 3 points today we can now automatically say we can’t be caught and crowned league champions.
(Lads superb brilliant competitive squad and all staff are happy)
“We now turn our attention to the league cup semi final away to Mochdre on Sunday the 12th April at 14.00.”
