Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen Caernarfon boys football team have reached a fourth Welsh Cup Final in five years.
The latest success involves the Under-18s, who beat Cardiff High in this week’s semi and will now play Ysgol St Cyres from Penarth, Cardiff in the final at Park Hall, TNS on Sunday, May 17.
In 2022, 2023 and 2024, Syr Hugh Owen won the Welsh Cup Finals at Under-14, U15 and U16 levels respectively. Many of the current Under-18 squad were involved in those previous finals.
Coached by former Everton midfielder and Wales Under-21 international Nathan Craig, some of the players are also part of the Caernarfon Town Development side which has made it to back-to-back FAW Welsh Youth Cup finals.
Of the Syr Hugh Owen group, one of the players has featured in the Cymru Premier, there are representatives of Caernarfon Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads Under-19s, plus a Tier 3 regular at Pwllheli in the squad.
