Three days after the disappointment of their Welsh Cup semi-final exit to Flint, Bangor City 1876 bounced back in style with a 10-goal beating of bottom side St Asaph.
The result boosted the Citizens’ lead at the summit to eight points as they completed the double over a Saints outfit they defeated just 1-0 away back in October.
Once Dylan Summers-Jones broke the deadlock on 18 minutes, the goals flowed regularly for Michael Johnston’s men.
Declan McManus struck after 26 and 40, Josh Carey found the net on 32, Adam Long made it four goals in as many games with 34 gone and Summers-Jones bagged his second in first half added time.
Leading 6-0 at half time, the hosts continued to pile on the goals after the break, McManus completing his hat-trick on 54 from a Carey assist.
Louis Corrigan made it eight after 65, Jack Smith soon registered on the scoresheet and the final goal came from Jamie Reed – his 17th of the season for the first team.
Captain Alex Jones’ ninth goal of the season rescued a point for Prestatyn, the all-important equaliser arriving in the 94th minute.
Connah’s Quay Town had led since the 27th minute when Harvey Drazdauskas found the net via a Harry Brown assist.
The draw edged Prestatyn up to fifth spot, while Quay are down in 13th.
