Two talented young players who have enjoyed major success lower down the pyramid are looking forward to testing their abilities in Tier 3 football with CPD Pwllheli.
Forward Deio Williams, 18, joined the Llŷn Peninsula club this week from Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs of the Tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier.
Defender Sion Kelly, 20, recently moved from T4 Bontnewydd to Ardal North West club Pwllheli.
Williams has gained many admirers in recent seasons with his performances for the Caernarfon Town Under-15, U16 and Development sides, as well as U15 outfit Bro Hedd Wyn Celts.
In 2023-24, the youngster represented Caernarfon in the Cymru Premier Development League, making 24 appearances and scoring seven goals.
He committed to Blaenau at the start of 2024-25, scoring on his debut in a Welsh Cup victory at North East Wales League club Castell Alun Colts. Williams went on to make 35 appearances for the Quarrymen, netting 12 times.
The teenager won the double of North Wales Coast West Division One title and NWCFA Junior Challenge Cup with Blaenau last season. He scored after coming on as a substitute in the 5-1 cup final victory over Holyhead Town.
CPD Pwllheli commented: “An energetic and committed forward, Deio’s creativity and eye for goal will be a real asset in the crucial months ahead.”
Kelly had been a key player at Bontnewydd since 2021-22. He made 73 first team appearances, scoring seven goals, and featured in 30 development matches, finding the net on nine occasions.
He was a top performer in the Bont side crowned Tier 5 North Wales Coast West Division One champions in 2023-24, the team emerging unbeaten over the entire season with 20 wins and two draws.
Kelly switched to Pwllheli at the turn of this year and has featured in two first team games and one Development match so far.
