Birthday girl Sian Moore comes from a sporting family.

Her brothers, Chris and Iwan, both play cricket and football to a high standard.

Chris is a former captain and outstanding all-rounder for Pwllheli CC, for whom he has scored in excess of 5,000 league runs and taken 161 wickets. He is also a class performer on the football field for CPD Pwllheli.

Younger brother Iwan recently made his highest score of 72 for Pwllheli’s first team in the North Wales Cricket League and has 45 club wickets to his name.

The 17-year-old represents Nefyn United in the North Wales Coast Football League West Premier Division.

But today is about Sian, who was born on September 7, 2000, and is now 21 years of age!

Sian is a quality defender who plays for tier 2 Genero Adran North club Pwllheli.

Player-manager Erica Jones said on behalf of all the club: “Sian brings everything a young player should and more to the game.

“She’s committed and always gives more than 110% – she’s a pleasure to play alongside. Her quality as a player is her speed and her awareness of the game. She’s a cracking defender and we at Pwllheli Ladies are very lucky to have her.

“Massive happy 21st birthday Sian from everyone at the club ❤️.”

To prove how popular and admired Sian is at the club, consider she has won Players’ Player of the Season three times in a row!

Sian Moore shows there is also a glamour side to women’s football

Sian began playing for CPD Pwllheli with the under-12 girls side.

She progressed to the ladies team and has also represented Loughborough University.

A centre-back or full-back, she has also turned out for the BUCS Midlands League.

Sian loves the company of all her team-mates, but cites Erica Jones and Lowri Hughes as the two biggest influences on her career.

Also an accomplished swimmer, Sian held 3 Welsh national ranked event times for 3 years.

Penblwydd hapus Sian – you are one in a million.
