NWCFA Development West: Victories for leaders Hotspur, Pentraeth, Trearddur Bay and Mynydd Llandegai

NWCFA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE – SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15
WEST DIVISION
CPD Gaerwen Development 0 Holyhead Hotspur Development 4

Noel Owen (2), Jordan Rowlands and sub Sean Pritchard shared the goals as undefeated Holyhead celebrated their 15th win in 16 league games.
Gaerwen’s Sam Mansell was shown a second yellow card in the 74th minute, while Hotspur manager Scott Hakesley saw red after 84.

Winning manager Hakesley talks us through the afternoon.
“Today we traveled down the road to Gaerwen in league action. The game could easily have been called off but both teams were happy to get the fixture done.
“Kicking off early as no warm ups could take place, we focused our attention on first and second balls as trying to play on the floor was impossible. A very scrappy first 20 minutes or so changed shape which resulted in us being on the front foot.
Cameron Buckley found Jordan Rowlands on the back post to slot home.
“The goal relaxed us and started opening up the pitch for Joe Jones and Casey Gregg to find Noel Owen, who led the line well today grabbing a double before half time.
“Second half and we wanted the next goal to turn our attention to next week. That came through some lovely play to find Sean Pritchard to make it 4-0 and kill the game off.
“Five changes made and if anything we played some of our best football through Ryan Woodruff and Reece Thomas. That’s another clean sheet for the squad and keeper Jake Chapman.
“Today’s MOTM goes to brother Floyd Chapman, a consistent threat down the left and not allowing Gaerwen any joy.
“Next up we focus on the cup as we welcome Pwllheli to the New Stadium.”
