Connah’s Quay Town management team leave the club

Ardal North West club Connah’s Quay Town are on the lookout for a new manager.

Town confirmed yesterday that first team manager Gary McConnell and assistant Dave Johnson have parted ways with the club by mutual consent.

The pair took over at the start of the current campaign, the club’s second in the Tier 3 Ardal North West League.

Despite some encouraging results this term and a group of new signings to be bedded in, Town have lost their last five games and sit fourth-from-bottom of the league.

McConnell and Johnson were in charge for 26 games, winning 8, drawing 2 and losing 16.

Their best results were home league wins over Llangefni Town and Trearddur Bay.

Connah’s Quay Town released the following statement: “The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to both Gary and Dave for the unwavering professionalism they have shown throughout their tenure.

“Beyond their work with the senior squad, the club is particularly grateful for their significant contributions to the restructuring and advancement of our youth development system, leaving a lasting legacy for the club’s future.

“We wish them both the very best of luck in their future endeavors.

“The club will announce an interim management setup shortly to oversee first-team affairs.”

Last week, McConnell brought former manager and ex-coach, Gavin Parry and Bobby Raggett, back into the club’s coaching set-up.
