Wrexham can look back on a great first phase of the Genero Adran Premier season which sees them lie second, just a point behind champions Cardiff City.

With a seven-point advantage over third-place Swansea City – who still have one to play – and 11 ahead of The New Saints in fourth, Jenny Sugarman’s side are in a strong position heading into phase 2, where the league splits in half with the top four forming the Championship Conference.

Wrexham finished fourth last season and third the campaign before, so are well set to achieve a best-ever final position come the end of 2025-26.

With new coach Sugarman bringing in several top-quality signings before and during phase 1, the Red Dragons have won 11 of their 14 matches to date, losing to just TNS and Cardiff.

Wrexham rounded off the opening phase in some style with a 6-1 victory at Barry Town United on Sunday – an equal-highest away win in the top flight.

Summer signing Katie Barker notched her first hat-trick for the team and is league top-scorer on 15 goals, while a resurgent Rosie Hughes struck twice at Jenner Park, meaning she has netted 17 times in her last 11 matches in all competitions.

Faye Hillier-Knox completed the scoring at Barry with her 11th goal in all comps since signing in October.

The previous weekend, Wrexham saw off Briton Ferry Llansawel 3-1 at home, Hughes (2) and Barker (pen) sharing the goals.

The Red Dragons are also into the Genero Adran Trophy final, where they will take on Cardiff City, and the Welsh Cup quarter-finals, a trip to Carmarthen Town awaiting next Sunday.

So a treble is still a possibility for the pride of North Wales!
