Wonder Walsh grabs her sixth hat-trick of the season!

NWC LLANDUDNO KIA WOMEN’S LEAGUE – FEBRUARY 1, 2026

Kinmel Bay 3 (Walsh 67, 76, 90+6)

NFA 0

Lexi Walsh notched her sixth senior hat-trick of the season to secure Kinmel Bay an outstanding victory which put them three points clear at the North Wales Coast League peak.

The 17-year-old boosted her goals tally in senior games for 2025-26 to 31 goals in just 14 matches with her second-half triple strike at Y Morfa.

In a high-tempo encounter played in tough, slippery conditions, the first half was a real end-to-end contest, with both sides committing numbers forward and moving the ball well despite the testing surface.

Goalkeepers at both ends were kept busy and produced a number of fine saves to keep the score level. Kinmel Bay came close in the 32nd minute when Scarlett Gregson switched play superbly with a long ball out to the right, finding Elin Jones.

Jones slipped a perfectly weighted through ball into the path of Amy Chesters, forcing the NFA keeper Courtney Ingram into an outstanding save.

At the other end, Shelby Wild showed her quality in the 35th minute, racing off her line to win a one-on-one with the NFA striker and forcing the shot wide. With neither side able to find the breakthrough, the teams went in at half-time locked at 0–0.

The second half continued at the same high tempo, with both teams playing some excellent football. Kinmel Bay’s defence stood strong under pressure, and the breakthrough finally arrived in the 67th minute.

Sarah Williams passed to Walsh, who produced a moment of magic, weaving her way around the NFA defence before unleashing a thunderous strike past the keeper to give the Bay a deserved lead.

NFA responded well and almost drew level when Loz Jones fired in a powerful effort, but Wild was equal to it, producing a fine fingertip save to preserve the advantage.

As the tempo remained high, Kinmel Bay began to apply sustained pressure, and it paid off again in the 76th minute. Substitute Baileigh Aaron delivered a delightful ball over the top, finding Walsh, who calmly drilled the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2–0 and claim her brace.

The game remained competitive right to the end, with both sides pushing, but Kinmel Bay sealed the result deep into stoppage time.

In the 96th minute, Elin Jones brought the ball down brilliantly from height before threading a pass into the path of Walsh, who coolly slotted into the bottom right corner to complete a superb hat-trick and cap a dominant second-half performance.
