Buckley Town’s women celebrated their first-ever win in a competitive fixture at the weekend.

Formed at the start of this season, the Flintshire side picked up their first points in the Central Wales North League.

Most of the good work was done in the first half by the Bucks at Coedpoeth’s Bronwens Green ground.

Danielle Jones found the net on seven and 23 minutes, while Bethan Hughes scored after 20 to make it 3-0 at the break.

In the second half, Coedy launched a bit of a comeback, Molly Jones and Jade McHugh on the scoresheet to reduce the deficit to 3-2.

However, Sophie Iball clinched it for the visitors with a late strike and the points were secured.
