UPDATE: Tom Taylor is released by Trearddur Bay

Trearddur Bay FC have released defender Tom Taylor from the club following an incident in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Porthmadog.
The Anglesey club have just published the following announcement.
“Following an Extraordinary General Meeting of the club’s committee and completion of the club’s internal processes. Trearddur Bay Football Club provides an update regarding the on field incident vs Porthmadog FC.
“Following an internal review, the decision was taken to release the suspended player involved with immediate effect.
“Trearddur Bay Football Club does not condone violence in any form and acknowledges that the incident should not have occurred.
“The club offers its sincere apologies to the opposition player involved, CPD Porthmadog, match officials, supporters, and the wider football community.
“The club will fully cooperate with any external investigations or disciplinary processes and will make no further comment at this time while these matters are ongoing.”
Earlier today, Trearddur Bay suspended the player, but have now decided to release him from the club altogether.
Police are investigating the incident which occurred in the second half on Saturday’s game where defender Taylor appears to be seen striking opponent Danny Brookwell in the face with an elbow.
Footage of the incident has been put out on social media, attracting millions of views and widespread condemnation of the alleged assault.
Trearddur Bay said police are investigating the incident, as are the Football Association of Wales, as the Tier 3 league comes under their jurisdiction.
