Shocking! Footage of incident at Porthmadog v Trearddur Bay match swamps the internet

This sort of incident does North Wales football no good at all.

Social media viewers worldwide have been left shocked and sickened by footage being shared from this afternoon’s Ardal North West League match between Porthmadog and Trearddur Bay.

Before a penalty is taken, Trearddur Bay defender Tom Taylor is seen viciously striking off-guard Porthmadog winger Danny Brookwell to the ground with an horrendous elbow swipe.

There is no place for this type of behaviour in football in any age group, let alone from an experienced player who has played at a high level for many years and won many medals and trophies.

It remains to be seen what action may be taken next by either club, or other authorities, connected or not connected to football.
