BUTE ENERGY WELSH CUP ROUND TWO – JANUARY 11, 2026

Llandudno 3 (Haynes 12, Whitefoot 45+1, 69)
Wrexham Foresters 1 (Churchill 8)

With three key players unavailable and a squad of just 13 on call, it was always going to be difficult for Tier 3 side Wrexham Foresters to overcome Tier 2 opposition.

The Foresters had beaten Adran North teams Felinheli and Flint in previous rounds of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, but on those occasions they had 40-goal player-manager Kirstie Kural, plus England futsal stars Laura Tobin and Becky Foster in the ranks.

With Kural suspended and Tobin and Foster away on international duty, the Wrexham side found the experience and quality of past Welsh Cup finalists and two-time Adran North champions Tudno a bridge too far.

However, Foresters still put up a fine show at Go Goodwins Stadium, taking the lead after eight minutes through skipper Morgan Churchill.

Llandudno equalised with 12 on the clock when Hannah Owen provided the assist for Jennifer Haynes to score.

The hosts took an important lead in first half added time, recent signing Lily Whitefoot on the mark, Olivia Rigby involved in the supply.

Midway through the second half, ex-Wrexham and The New Saints player Whitefoot struck again, Owen with her second assist of the tie.

And that settled the contest with Llandudno making full use of their substitutes to keep things fresh and under control.

Llandudno now travel to Swansea City in the quarter-finals.

Foresters player-manager Kural said after the game: “Hard to go there with a bare 11 and compete for 90 minutes. I can’t lie, I got so excited when we went 1–0 up.

“We’ve had a great cup run and we’re still unbeaten in the league. Now we recover and go again next Sunday.”
