Women’s football: Five North Wales teams apply for Tier 2 status

Kinmel Bay, Llangefni Town, NFA, Airbus UK Broughton and Wrexham Foresters have all applied for a Tier 2 licence which would make them eligible for promotion to the Adran North League next season.
All five teams currently operate in Tier 3 – Bay, Cefni and NFA in the North Wales Coast Women’s League, while Airbus and Foresters compete in the Central Wales North Ladies League.

Foresters are runaway leaders of their league with seven straight victories and a huge 83 goals scored, while Airbus sit third. The Wingmakers previously campaigned in Adran North in 2021-22, 22-23 and 23-24.
Llangefni were North East Wales League runners-up in the past two seasons and are present leaders of the new North Wales Coast with a 100% record of nine consecutive wins.
Kinmel Bay are second in the Coast League with seven wins in eight, while NFA sit third having been relegated from the Adran North in 2024-25 after two seasons in Tier 2.
Meanwhile, current Adran North champions and present leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads have applied for a Tier 1 licence in 2026-27.
Nomads lost in a play-off to earn top flight status last season after achieving a perfect 14 wins on the bounce to seal the Tier 2 title.
