Massive games on Wednesday night in Ardal North West

There’s a big night of action ahead on Wednesday in Tier 3 Ardal North West.

Just two matches are on, but both affect the top of the table.

CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876, fresh from a tremendous 2-1 Welsh Cup win over Cymru North high-riders Holywell Town on Saturday, are home again in the league against third-placed Llangefni Town.

A City victory will take them top, while three points for Cefni would put them level with current leaders Porthmadog. A draw would ensure both teams remain where they are.

Bangor have not lost a match all season, 18 wins and two draws making up their 20 league and cup fixtures, while Cefni have won their last three on the bounce following a blip in October.

Both teams have quality goalscorers on parade – Corrig McGonigle is on 17 this season for City, while Dion Jones has hit 16 for Llangefni.

Also in ANW, fourth-placed Prestatyn Town will aim to make it eight matches, eight wins in the league at Bastion Gardens when they welcome Bethesda Athletic.

Mynydd Isa, Llay Welfare, Llanrwst United, Llannefydd, Connah’s Quay Town, Trearddur Bay and St Asaph City have all perished at Prestatyn since July.

Bethesda have had an up-and-down start to the campaign, but enjoyed a morale-boosting 4-1 success at Llannefydd on Saturday, a result which will be an ideal confidence-booster before their trip to the Denbighshire coast.

Pesda’s Osian Hughes is currently joint-top scorer in Ardal North West on 10 goals and is a man to watch out for at Bastion.
