Gresford Athletic latest – the club WILL have first team available for Saturday’s fixture; youth and junior set-up unaffected by current crisis
Gresford Athletic have confirmed they will definitely be able to field a team for Saturday’s JD Cymru North clash at Holyhead Hotspur.
The Wrexham-area club were left reeling yesterday by the resignation of first-team manager Eddie Maurice-Jones, chairman and treasurer Pete Goddard, plus other management team and committee members.
Those left running the club released a statement last night stating the departures had come out of the blue and Gresford’s senior teams’ future was in doubt due to current uncertainty.
The club said it would ‘do its best’ to fulfil Saturday’s game at Holyhead.
Today, Gresford confirmed they will have a team available to play tomorrow’s fixture – weather permitting.
While the heavy rain has put many of Saturday’s games across North Wales in jeopardy, Holyhead’s New Stadium ground is famed for getting matches on.
Meanwhile, Gresford have also confirmed the club’s youth and junior set-up is secure despite the present cloud hanging over the senior operation.
