Four North Wales clubs will face South teams in Trophy last 16 – let’s check out the opposition

Four North Wales clubs have been matched with South Wales opposition in the Dragon Signs FAW Amateur Trophy fourth round – three at home and one away.
What sort of opponents will our teams be taking on in the last 16 next month?
Let’s find out more about them…..
Llangefni Town v Penrhiwceiber Rangers
Good match-up this – an all-Tier 3 affair.
Llangefni Town lie third in Ardal North West, while Penrhiwceiber occupy the same position in Ardal South West.
Rangers were crowned Ardal South West champions in 2023-24, were promoted to Cymru South, but got relegated back to Tier 3 after one season.
CPD Llannefydd v Port Talbot Town
While Llannefydd play in a higher tier – 3 compared to Port Talbot’s placing in 4, the South Wales side are the current FAW Trophy holders.
Llannefydd are presently 9th in Ardal North West, while Talbot sit fifth in the South Wales Premier League.
AFC Wattstown v Prestatyn Town
Wattstown operate in Tier 5 and are currently down in 9th spot in the South Wales Premier League Championship Division.
That suggests Prestatyn Town, one of the strongest teams in the Tier 3 Ardal North West, have a good chance, but away ties in South Wales, especially against opponents out to take a major scalp, can be testing affairs. Penygraig United from T5 went all the way to the final last season.
Penmaenmawr Phoenix v Mumbles Rangers
Promoted to Tier 3 this season, Phoenix began the campaign badly but have picked up of late, boosted by some quality new signings.
Phoenix are currently in 14th spot, but looking capable of moving higher.
Mumbles sit second in the Tier 4 West Wales Premier League, so are sure to present a few dangers to Pen.
OTHER ROUND FOUR TIES
Llanrwst United v CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876
Pontardawe Town v Cwmbran Town
Porthcawl Town Athletic v CKSV
Bridgend Street v Treforest
