JD CYMRU NORTH: Can anyone stop Llandudno?

Who can stop Llandudno?
That has to be the burning question after the Seasiders went top of JD Cymru North last Friday after a 10th successive victory.
A great week for the club got even better when Jordan Hadaway was named league Manager of the Month for October to make it back-to-back awards.
This weekend Tudno will host a Guilsfield side on a good run of form themselves, but the way they are performing at present, it will be a major surprise if there is anything other than a home victory at the Go Goodwins Stadium.
Airbus UK Broughton will be determined to return to the summit – overnight at least – when they host Denbigh Town on Friday evening.
Third-place Holywell face a tough trip to Newtown, who are just one spot below and can leapfrog the Wellmen with victory at Latham Park on Saturday.

REPORTS – NOVEMBER 7-8

Saturday, November 8

Brickfield Rangers 4 Penrhyncoch 1

Brickfield earned their first league win in over two months with a 4-1 triumph over Penrhyncoch at Clywedog Park on Saturday.
Rangers made a dream start as Danny Jones bagged a quickfire double in the opening seven minutes, while Penrhyncoch forward Owain Evans missed from the penalty spot in first half stoppage time.
Calum Huxley and Andy Vale both found the net in the final 20 minutes as Brickfield made it 4-0, but there was a slight dampener for the hosts as defender Ryan Willliams was shown a straight red card. Dion Phillips netted a consolation goal for Penrhyncoch in stoppage time, but the Roosters remain bottom of the table and four points adrift of safety.

Caersws 3 Gresford Athletic 1

Caersws won in the league for the first time since the start of August as two stoppage time goals snatched a 3-1 victory at home against Gresford.
Athletic were awarded a penalty with just nine minutes on the clock, but Jake Roberts was denied from the spot by Max Williams. That proved costly for the visitors as Caersws went ahead four minutes into the second half when Tommy Rowlands finished off a swift counter-attack.
Iwan Roberts equalised 15 minutes later, but there was late drama as Jake Humphreys’ free-kick deflected beyond Lewis Dutton to put Caersws ahead in the 92nd minute before Dillon Browne sealed victory by making it 3-1 soon after.

Guilsfield 3 Holyhead Hotspur 1

Guilsfield extended their unbeaten run in the league to seven matches as Iwan Matthews’ brace inspired a 3-1 victory over Holyhead Hotspur.
Corey Jones finished in the midst of a goalmouth scramble to give Holyhead the lead in the 23rd minute, but Matthews equalised almost immediately with a low drive into the bottom corner.
Matthews completed the turnaround six minutes before half-time, while Adam Knott wrapped things up for the Guils in the 73rd minute by tapping in a loose ball at the front post.

Holywell Town 0 Buckley Town 1

Buckley upset the odds by handing Holywell a first league defeat of the season with 40-year-old stand-in goalkeeper Chris Roberts the star man for the winners.
The former top-flight winning defender with Rhyl and Bangor City, assisting Buckley during a goalkeeper crisis, made two crucial saves in the first half as he denied Craig Lindfield one-on-one before tipping Jack Sconce’s effort onto the crossbar.
The Bucks then took the lead in the 68th minute as Aled Bellis headed home from Nick Grogan’s cross, which proved enough to end the Wellmen’s unbeaten run.
This match was reported on in-depth by Grassroots North Wales on Saturday.

Mold Alexandra 1 Newtown 3

Fourth-place Newtown are now just three points behind top spot following their 3-1 victory at Mold.
Louis Jacobs curled home a sweetly struck free-kick inside just two minutes to put the Robins ahead, while the forward bagged again three minutes before the break as he finished from close range.
Mold halved the deficit early in the second half when Harry Cartwright fired home a loose ball, but they could not complete the comeback and Newtown wrapped up victory in stoppage time when teenage substitute Fin Starkey-Jones headed home.

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2 Flint Mountain 3

Resurgent Flint Mountain survived a late scare to triumph 3-2 at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium.
Mountain took just two minutes to open the scoring as Sam Lestrange finished off a neat move, before the 20-year-old netted again to double the lead shortly after the half hour mark. Captain Kieran Owens then added a third goal for the visitors on 67 minutes.
Substitute Rocco Hewitt gave Rhyl a lifeline with a goal against his former club in the 87th minute, before Lilywhites midfielder Ben Lightfoot scored from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time, but Mountain held on for a second win in three games to climb up to 11th in the table.

Friday, November 7

Airbus UK Broughton 4 Ruthin Town 0

Back to winning ways for the Wingmakers after their nightmare 5-0 loss at Llandudno seven days earlier.
Mark Allen’s side took just five minutes to opening the scoring as Mason Blackwell-Jones laid the ball off to George Peers who fired home off the post.
Joe Palmer headed home from Jordan Evans’ cross in the 32nd minute before Sam Rickett weaved his way through the Ruthin defence and sent a low effort into the bottom corner soon after..
Victory was sealed by Danny Warren shortly before the hour mark when he brought down Peers’ cross and fired beyond Dan Goldston.
This was to be Dave Evans’ last game in charge of Ruthin.

Denbigh Town 1 Llandudno 2

Llandudno finished the weekend top of the table after making it 10 straight wins.
Mark Cadwallader’s brace secured a 2-1 win over Denbigh Town at Central Park on Friday night.
Cadwallader won the Seasiders a penalty in the 17th minute as he was brought down by Denbigh goalkeeper Elijah Beattie inside the area, with the 37-year-old stepping up to score from the spot.
Ben Lockley brought Denbigh level nine minutes into the second half as he met Nathan Brown’s free-kick and looped the ball over Shaun Pearson, but Llandudno’s advantage was restored on 69 when Cadwallader tapped home from close range.
