Cynghrair Pêl-rwyd Hogan Gwynedd a Môn Netball League – reports October 21-22


DIVISION 1 AND 2 REPORTS – WEEK 7
Walis Bryncoch are top of Division 1 after last Wednesday’s superb 40-28 victory over Arfon Ladies (October 22).
Alaw Davies-Thomas was a standout player for Bryncoch, who scored 11-9-9-11 over the four quarters, while Kathryn Caine was Players and Umpires’ PoM for Arfon.
Tim o Walis are down to second after losing 24-16 against Dreigiau’r Dyffryn, who decisively took the final quarter 7-3. Walis were beaten for the first time this season.
Bethesda put up a great battle in a 28-26 loss to Dolgellau. Pesda won the first segment 9-6 and the last 6-5, but Dol gained enough goals in between to end up narrow voctors.
Penygroes Primos outscored Porthmadog 27-21. Quarters 1 and 3 were both drawn 5-5. Sophie Ellis was in excellent form for Port.
DIVISION 2 action saw leaders Thunderbirds beaten 27-25 by Thunderjags in a thriller.
Birds won the opener 8-5, but Jags took the next 7-4 to make it 12-12 at half time. The third quarter finished 7-7 so it was 19-19 entering the last, which Jags won 8-6.
Walis Wariars recovered from losing the first session 7-3 to Llewod Llyfni to take the match 25-20.
Wariers won the second 8-3 and the third a massive 10-1 to lead 21-11, yet Llyfni roared back to take the closer 9-4, but had left themselves too much ground to make up.
Second-place Holyhead Hawks saw off Blaenau Ffestiniog 24-14, while Thunderstars enjoyed an emphatic 32-17 triumph over Bethesda Bach, despite only leading 13-11 at midway. Stars scored a massive 14 goals in the last quarter.
