It was time to celebrate for Pwllheli Dreigiau Dre when they recently achieved their first win in Division 2 of the Hogan Group Ltd Cynghrair Pêl-rwyd Gwynedd a Môn Netball League.
On the evening of October 7, the young side from the Llŷn Peninsula defeated Silyn Aur 20-12 to get off the mark.
It was a great all-round performance from Dreigiau Dre, but special credit to Lili Green, who was named both Players’ Player and Umpires’ Player of the Match. Silyn Aur pushed till the end and won the last 3-2.

Coach Heidi Bakewell was ecstatic about the team’s success, saying on the night: “I’m so proud of these girls, they’ve developed so much over the last year and a half. They come every week to training, never give up and tonight they secured their very first win in Division Two.
“I couldn’t ask for a better bunch of girls; they’re dedicated, their attitude is absolutely amazing and they deserved every ounce of that win tonight.
“Their attitude towards other teams’ umpires is a pleasure to watch. Couldn’t be prouder as a coach. A massive thank you to all those that support them on a Tuesday night while I’m at work. It doesn’t go unnoticed and your support is unwavering to the girls. They couldn’t do this without you.”
