Galdo steps down as Corwen manager after solid stint in charge

Adam Galdo has resigned as manager of Corwen

Adam Galdo has stepped down as manager of Ardal North East club Corwen.

Galdo took over as boss from Jamie Hulse in summer 2024 after the Edeyrnion side had won the Tier 4 North East Wales League title and been promoted to T3 Ardal North West.

Corwen finished a respectable 10th in the table last term, however their best achievement was reaching the semi-finals of the NEWFA Challenge Cup, where they led Cymru North Airbus UK Broughton 3-1 before conceding two late goals and exiting on penalties.

This season saw Corwen transfer over to T3 Ardal North East where they currently lie fifth with four wins, two draws and two losses.

Galdo’s last game in charge was last Saturday’s 0-0 home draw with unbeaten Knighton Town.

With an overall record as manager of 52 matches, 23 wins, eight draws and 21 defeats, Galdo did a workmanlike job and leaves the War Memorial Park side in a decent position.

Corwen published the following statement on social media: “With sadness, we announce the resignation of first team manager Adam Galdo, with immediate effect.

“An announcement on his successor will be made in the near future. We would like to thank Adam for all of his hard work and wish him every success for the future.”
