CPD Caerwys 1
(Caerwys won 5-3 on penalties)
Division 3 Caerwys upset the odds with a penalty shootout victory at Division 1 Rhydymwyn in the Horace Wynne Cup last 16.
Andy Hughes saved Rhyd’s second spot kick and Danny Buchanan put away the decisive pen for the visitors.
It had been 1-1 in normal time. Huw Williams put the hosts in front on 74, Karl Bacon salvaging an equaliser 12 minutes from time from the penalty spot after he was fouled on the edge of the box. Caerwys were missing Ryan Carrington up front and on the balance of play got their just rewards.
Shaun Thomson and Dai Booth were very impressive in the heart of the Caerwys defence in a team which only fielded three players under 30.
Caerwys scored all of their five pens through Bacon, Keion Davies, Leon Bowen, Danny Ventre and Buchanan.
Greenfield 8
CPD Cei Connah 0

Dean Hyland was a hat-trick hero for a Greenfield side which comfortably saw off Division 3 bottom team Cei Connah.
Hyland struck on 4, 54 and 60 minutes, with doubles added by Taylor Edwards on 12 and 24 and Stephen Lee after 62 and 76, while Jack Pennington grabbed a single with 70 gone.

Holywell United 2
Chirk AAA 4
Division Two hosts Holywell gave their higher level opponents a great battle before eventually bowing out 4-2.
There was controversy on 21 minutes when Chirk’s Daniel Evans was denied his first senior goal after the ball appeared to bounce out off the back stanchion, but the referee waved play on.
To add insult to injury, the Colliers went a goal down when Luke Doherty edged Holywell in front on 25 minutes.
The AAA’s levelled on the half hour when Brandon Edwards nodded in after a Brad Pierce free kick was flicked on by Nathan Jones,
Matthew Mullarkey restored the United lead three minutes before the break. Half time: Holywell United 2 Chirk AAA 1
Eight minutes into the second half, the Colliers were back on terms when Oliver Roberts converted a penalty given for a foul on Dan Evans.

No denying Hawarden in this one as they sent Broughton crashing to a first loss in five matches.
All the goals came in the second half, Haydn Cartwright breaking the deadlock on 56 minutes and Callum Cartwright doubling the advantage on 70 before Rangers added three more between the 89th and 94th.
