Youth and experience produce a great game – Llanrwst v Kinmel Bay

NORTH WALES WOMEN’S RECREATIONAL LEAGUE – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
CPD Merched Llanrwst Unedig 2 (A Hughes 38, 47)
Kinmel Bay 2 (Farley 14, Hall 55)
Undefeated Llanrwst and Kinmel Bay played out a closely contested game on Monday evening that ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Conwy Valley hosts are a team of promising 16 and 17-year-olds with skills and pace aplenty and certainly ones fo watch for the future.
Kinmel Bay contain players a variety of ages with mixed levels of experience but a brilliant team ethic.
Bay took the lead in the 14th minute when Steph Farley latched onto a clever ball threaded through the middle by Amy Mamwell, finishing confidently into the back of the net.

Llanrwst hit back just after the break, with Alaw Hughes finding space to slot the ball into the bottom left corner, narrowly beyond the reach of Bay stand-in keeper Yasmin Mills.
Shortly after Llanrwst went ahead through Hughes again, who pounced on a long ball from the back and calmly put it past the Bay defence.
Kinmel Bay responded strongly, and in the 55th minute Jess Hall struck a thunderous effort that crashed off the crossbar and bounced straight into the net to level the score at 2-2.
Both sides pressed for a winner in the final stages, but the game finished all square – a fair result after an evenly matched and hard-fought contest.

Managers Player of the match for Kinmel Bay goes to Becca Gregson – non-stop workrate, never stopped chasing.
