Lionesses are roaring, Bees are buzzing – North Wales Women’s Recreational League

Antonia Lopez scored a goal for the Mochdre Lionesses

NORTH WALES WOMEN’S RECREATIONAL LEAGUE – REPORTS SEPTEMBER 22

Penmaenmawr Phoenix Yellows 0 Mochdre Lionesses 4

Matchday 2 saw the Lionesses win on the road at league newbie Penmaenmawr Phoenix Yellows.

A close first half, with each team having their chances to open the scoring, ended 0-0.

A half time chat and a bit of reshuffle saw the pride come out looking for goals,

Bethan Smith delivered a corner and sub Antonia Lopez found the net to break the deadlock.

More impressive wing work, with a superb cross from player-manager Leanne Williams, found Rachel Faragher for a tap in. That made it two goals in two matches for each of Mochdre’s opening scorers.

Emily Lawton rounded off her superb evening’s work with two quick fire assists, firstly setting up Faragher, and then the tireless Charlotte Thomas, who made it 4-0 with a well-deserved goal.

Some brilliant work all over the pitch from every Lioness.

Player(s) of the Match went to Charlotte Thomas and Emma Dainty.

Eglwysbach Queen Bees 2 Prestatyn Athletic Dragonhearts 0

Bees were buzzing after a goal in each half secured a 2-0 victory over the Dragonhearts.

Danni Jean Hender netted the opener after 10 minutes and Stena Hoerner added the second on 60+1.
