Kinmel Bay overturn half time deficit to stretch unbeaten run to 14 matches

NORTH WALES COAST KIA LLANDUDNO WOMEN’S LEAGUE – SEPTEMBER 14
Caernarfon Town 3 (E Evans 3)
Kinmel Bay 6 (Nettleton 3, Walsh 2, G Williams)
An unbeaten run which kicked off with a 8-3 win at Caernarfon six months ago reached 14 matches on Sunday when Kinmel Bay triumphed 6-3 – at the same venue.
Without defeat since a 4-3 home loss to CPD Pwllheli in February 2025, Bay have since won 13 and drawn one in a magnificent streak of success.
Included in that set of results was victory in the Betty Pickering Shield Final against Henllan in April.
Bay have started the 2025-26 season in magnificent style, following up an opening day win over a CPD Pwllheli side unbeaten in 32 previous league games by seeing off the Cofis at The Oval on Sunday.
Kinmel produced a stunning second-half performance to secure a thrilling 6-3 away triumph over the Canaries.
The visitors started brightly, taking the lead in the 13th minute when Jess Nettleton finished confidently after a well-placed assist from Tash Standing. They doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute, as Georgia Williams struck home following good work from Elin Jones.
Caernarfon fought back before the break, with Elan Evans scoring twice in a minute assisted by Llinos Hughes and then Malan Hughes.
Town completed the turnaround when Evans brought up her hat-trick in the 45th minute, sending the hosts into half-time with a 3–2 lead.

After the restart, Kinmel Bay showed sheer determination and class, totally turning the tables. Nettleton grabbed her second of the afternoon in the 56th minute, assisted by skipper Seren Williams, before making it a treble in the 65th with help from Lexi Walsh.
The momentum stayed with Kinmel Bay as Walsh then got on the scoresheet herself in the 69th minute, finishing off a clever move created by Standing.
Walsh struck again in the 80th minute, this time from an assist by Chloe Scanlan, sealing a superb brace.
The second half showcased Kinmel Bay’s fighting spirit, as they overturned the deficit in style to secure a deserved 6–3 victory.
Player of the match voted for by Caernarfon was Jess Nettleton
