DIVISION TWO

Carmel & District (15) 132-1 St Asaph 2nd XI (0) 131-10

Openers Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka (69) and Supun Eranga (54 not out) put on 126 as Carmel cruised to 132-1 in a nine-wicket victory over a St Asaph seconds side bowled out for 131, Amer Jamil 3-20, Jagath Magulagama 2-20.

Corwen (12) 131-7 Llanrwst (3) 130-10

After bowling Llanrwst out for 130, skipper Aron Hughes 45 not out and Trefor Williams 40, Steff Lloyd 3-20 and Iwan Lloyd 2-20, Corwen were made to struggle before reaching the winning line at 131-7, Iwan Lloyd 31, Caron Williams 2-10 and Iori Roberts 2-15 for the Conwy Valley visitors.

Marchwiel and Wrexham (0) 125-8 Buckley (15) 228-5

Leaders Buckley continued their relentless charge towards the title with a 103-run victory at Marchwiel Hall.
Put into bat, the visitors amassed 228-5 off 40 overs, Ollie Fellows 65, Chris Geary 51 not out and Danny Peover 42, Sam Shoemark 2-35 for the hosts, who could only manage 125-8, Scott Lawrenson 53 no, Lee Taylor 2-17, Fellows 2-19 and Jack Whitley 2-23 for the table-toppers.

Menai Bridge 2nd XI (11) 233-9 Pwllheli (4) 230-5

A brilliant game saw Menai Bridge seconds win a high-scoring contest by just three runs.
The Anglesey side set 233-9 off 40, Andrew Nuttall 54, skipper Andrew Wannop 38 and Samuel Bixby 32, Kalim Al Baloshi 3-26, Harri Adams 3-49 and Craig Edwards 2-12 for Pwllheli, who ended up just short on 230-5, Adam Williams 93 not out, Al Baloshi 47 and skipper Ioan Jones 34, Phil Smith 2-26 and Llyr Midgley 2-43 for the islanders.

Pontblyddyn 2nd XI (0) 61-10 Llay Welfare (15) 62-1

Tom Parry (3-1), Tom Davies (3-12) and David Phennah (3-15) helped ensure Llay blew away hosts Pont for just 61 before the visitors eased to 62-1 off 8.4 overs, Parry 42 not out.

Ruthin (3) 158-7 Abergele (12) 161-6

Ned Roberts (42), Duncan Roberts (35) and Ted Evans (30 not out) helped Ruthin post 158-7, Rana Das taking 3-26 and David Moulson 2-9 off eight for Abergele, who responded with a winning 161-6, Nathan Aldridge 45 and Edward Rooney 40, Akinda Abeysinghe 2-25 and Osian Roberts 2-36 for the hosts.

Monday, August 25

Conwy 2nd XI (12) 168-8 Llandudno 2nd XI (3) 125-10

Conwy seconds won Monday’s local derby at Bodlondeb by 43 runs.
Electing to bat, the hosts chalked up 168-8 off 40 overs, Carwyn Thomas 34, Llandudno’s Shana Kelly bagging 3-22 and David Barlow 2-30, then the visitors were dismissed for 125, Andrew Christian 36, Carter Tawhai 2-3 and Bailey Davies 2-23 for Conwy.

Mold 2nd XI (12) 214-6 Denbigh 2nd XI (3) 169-10

Defeat for leaders Denbigh seconds by 45 runs at Chester Road.
Louis Boulton (79) and George Jones (61) starred in Mold’s effort of 214-6, Sam Kitching and Umer Farrukh both 2-35 for the visitors, who were sent packing for 169, Finlay Rooke Hart 46 and Darren Nixon 32 no. Henry Roberts 4-25 and Craig Embleton 3-28 for the winners.

Saturday, August 23

Abergele 2nd XI (2) 137-10 Denbigh 2nd XI (13) 141-4

David Kitching took a career best 6-36 as table-topping Denbigh seconds removed Abergele seconds for 137, Alec Lewis pocketing 3-19, while Gudwinder Singh scored 37 for the hosts.
Umer Farrukh then ended 71 not out as the travellers comfortably reached 141-4 in 28 overs.

Bersham (15) 336-6 Gresford 2nd XI (0) 151-10

Farhan Abdulla hit a commanding 128 as Bersham rattled up a mammoth 336-6 off 40 overs at home to Gresford seconds.
Aneesh Pattali added 58 not out and Noufal Khader 44 for the Colliers, Cameron Murdoch 2-28 for the away side, who were all back in the hutch with 151 on the scoreboard, Matthew McCarthy 58, Khader 5-20 and Vipin Shylajan 2-18 for the hosts.

Bethesda 2nd XI (14) 153-3 Llandudno 2nd XI (1) 150-5

Jez Shea (59) and captain Richard Green (46) were the main contributors as Bethesda seconds eased to a winning target of 153 for the loss of just three wickets at Parc Villa.
Elin Roberts took a very tidy 2-24 for Tudno, who had earlier been limited to 150-5, skipper David Barlow 61 and Phillip Patel 41 no, Dylan Hughes 3-24 for Pesda.

Buckley 2nd XI (11) 167-9 Hawarden Park 2nd XI (4) 154-9

Louis Parry (48), Gary Mayers (35) and Harri Weigh (32) helped guide Buckley seconds to a winning 167-9, Haseeb Hanif 2-23 for Park, who were then kept down to 154-9, Tom Pool 3-35 and Joe Hogg 2-18 for the hosts, who triumphed by 13 runs.

Conwy 2nd XI (3) 165-10 Clwb Criced Caernarfon (12) 193-5

Good win for Caernarfon at Bodlondeb, Grant Peisley 54 and Chris Moody 45 in a total of 193-5, Callum Davies 2-37 for the home team, who were bowled out for 165, Toby Watson 37, Monis Altaf 3-18 and Simon Davis 3-21 for the Cofis.

Mold 2nd XI (1) 146-8 Gwersyllt Park 2nd XI (14) 224-6

Daniel Jones struck a career highest 91 for a Gwersyllt Park seconds outfit which won by 78 runs at Chester Road.
Opener Ethan McCarthy added a fine 68 for the visitors, who produced a formidable 224-5, Gruffudd Edwards 2-25 and Thomas North 2-33 for Mold seconds, whose reply ended on 146-8, Hayden Millington 33, Michael Griffiths 3-23 and Jones 2-22 for the Wrexham side.

Ruthin seconds won a tight one by two wickets at Castle Park.
Put into bat, Bala were all out for 120 off 40 overs, Karan Vasani 36, Elliott Lewis 3-9 off eight and Gareth Beach 2-14 for the visitors, who hit back with 121-8 off 38, captain Jamie Hughes making a crucial 36, Will Bell 3-12 and Rubel Ahmed 3-30 for the Lakesiders.

Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (11) 186-8 Brymbo 3rd XI (4) 175-8

Connah’s Quay seconds moved level on points with Brymbo thirds after a narrow 11 run victory over the Steelmen on Monday.
Rowan Entwistle made 37 and Hashmat Safi 36 in the Quay’s effort of 186-8, Luca Brooks 3-53 and Trinesh Fernando 2-30 for the visitors, who were restricted in reply to 175-8, Charlie Crosdale 42 and Jake Hughes 41, Cole Hooson 3-26 and Chris Boden 2-16 for the Deesiders.

Dolgellau 2nd XI (0) 78-9 Halkyn 2nd XI (15) 282-8

Title hopefuls Halkyn seconds recorded a huge 204-run victory at The Marian.
Inserted by the opposition, the visitors piled up 282-8 off 40, Dylan Wilson 98, Will Baker 43, Jack Hawkins 41 and Shaun Gibson 32, Tomos Slattery 3-10 and Joel Eynon 3-34 for the home team, who could only reach 78-9 in their response, Oliver Fennell 2-3 and Aaron Thomas 2-8.

Llanrwst 2nd XI (3) 124-9 Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (12) 150-6

Nick Husbands made 74 for Marchwiel and Wrexham seconds

Opener and skipper Nick Husbands made 74 in Marchwiel and Wrexham seconds’ winning score of 150-6, Lee Thomas 3-27 for the Rwsters, who were limited to 124-9, Aled Hughes 31, Mike Lee 4-26 and Zahid Sharif 2-12 off eight for the away side.

Pwllheli 2nd XI (0) 74-10 Bersham 2nd XI (14) 75-2

Shins Varghese took 4-8 and Jijin Joseph 3-33 as Pwllheli seconds were blown away for 74, then Bersham skipped to 75-2, Derick Dineshan 38 not out.

Brymbo 3rd XI (13) 198-4 Bersham 2nd XI (2) 196-9

Number 10 bat Shins Varghese made a remarkable 87 not out as Bersham set a challenging 196-9, Vipin Shylajan adding 54, Terry Jones taking 4-50 and Louie Manning 3-19 for the hosts, who got home on 198-4, Gareth Parry 56 not out, Jamie Beale 55 and Charlie Croasdale 34, Varghese taking 3-29 for the losing side.

Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn (14) 135-3 Clwb Criced Y Bala (1) 134-10

Rubel Ahmed cracked a marvellous 82 as Bala were bowled out for 134 at Argoed SSC, Jon Saunby 4-32 for Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn, who clinched victory with 135-3 off just 23.2 overs in response, Deepak Loguchetty Deenadayalu 64 not out, Aryaman Arora 32.

Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (15) 79-1 Hawarden Park 3rd XI (0) 77-10

Chris Boden took 3-10 and Hashmat Safi 3-19 as Connah’s Quay skittled Hawarden thirds out for 77, then the Deesiders hit back with 79-1 off 17.5, Lucas Probert 38.

Halkyn 2nd XI (11) 100-10 Marchwiel-Wrexham 2nd XI (4) 83-10

Halkyn were bowled out for just 100, Zahid Sharif 4-17 and Mike Lee 3-28 for the visitors, who were then knocked over for 83, Sharif 35, Josh Edwards 3-23, Tony Green 2-10 and Aaron Thomas 2-14 for the home victors.

Llanrwst 2nd XI (15) Dolgellau 2nd XI (-15) – Dolgellau 2nd XI conceded

Pwllheli 2nd XI (4) 153-10 Carmel & District 2nd XI (11) 176-6

Ranjith Appuhamy (66) and Nick Hughes (52 not out) ensured Carmel seconds made a winning total of 176-6, Jac Rhent with 2-24 for Pwllheli seconds, who were all removed for 153 in reply, skipper Dyfed Williams a defiant 70 and Beau Jones 41 down the order, Luke Owen claiming 4-20 and record-breaker Dafydd Timothy an impeccable 2-2 off four overs for the Pen-y-Gelli travellers.
