Llangefni Town Ladies confirm they rejected promotion offer to Tier 2 Adran North

Llangefni Town Ladies have confirmed they rejected an offer of promotion to the Genero Adran North League to replace CPD Y Rhyl 1879.
It was announced today that Rhyl have withdrawn from the Tier 2 league due to lack of player availability and commitment.
The FAW revealed that the Adran North will now operate as a seven-team league in 2025-26 following the loss of the Lilywhites.
Two potential replacements were reportedly approached but both refused, including Llangefni. The FAW would not comment on this.
The Anglesey side finished runners-up in the tier 3 North East Wales League West Division last season.
Champions Pwllheli did not apply to go up, so Cefni were scheduled to play East Division title winners Berriew in a promotion play-off final.
However, Berriew refused to participate in the play-off and on appeal to the FAW won promotion to the Adran North on a technicality.
Llangefni are now committed to another season in the newly-formed Tier 3 North Wales Coast Women’s League having strengthened their squad over the summer.
However, the islanders have taken up a vacancy in the Genero Adran Trophy competition left by Rhyl’s departure.
This evening, Llangefni released the following statement: “We can confirm we have accepted the FAW’s Wildcard entry to replace CPD Y Rhyl 1879 Women in the Adran Trophy this season.
“We can also confirm we have rejected the chance to compete in the Adran North Tier 2 this season. As a club we want to be promoted on sporting merit not by default or technicalities.
“Our season starts This Sunday! Bring the support Llangefni!”
