Ruthin marked their return to the Memorial Playing Fields after a 344-day absence in winning style on Wednesday night.

After starting the campaign with three away league defeats, Dave Evans’ side got off the mark at the expense of Penrhyncoch.

Town made the ideal start when Daniel Holland gave them a 10th minute lead, Dan Cox with the assist.

Two minutes later it got better when Llyr Morris found the net, Harry Martin supplying the opening.

It should have been 3-0 after 38 minutes when the hosts were awarded a penalty, but Martin’s kick was saved by Steffan Jones.

Early in the second half, Penrhyn were back in the contest when Rhydian Davies opened their account.

On the hour, however, Ruthin struck again through Morris, Joshua Evans this time with the assist.

Stephen Bibby set up sub Curtis Cooper to make it 2-1 Junction with 68 gone, but just a minute later the visitors were down to 10 men after Jack Williams was dismissed for a second yellow.

Mochdre failed to make the most of the man advantage and were reduced in numbers themselves on 85 minutes when Charles Lloyd was shown a red card.

And Junction sealed it after 90 when George Roberts bagged their third, Bibby with his second assist.
