First reports from new-look North East Wales League – Massey scores six for Overton

Overton Recreational’s six-goal star Harry Massey

With special thanks to Shaun Best

Harry Massey was a six-goal hero for Overton Recreational today – almost 12 months to the day that he scored seven in a match for his previous club.

The North East Wales League goal machine has returned to Overton this season after spending the last campaign with Lex XI, helping them gain promotion to Tier 3 by netting 34 times for the first team in 31 matches across all competitions.

In two previous seasons at Overton, the 24-year-old banged in a remarkable 77 goals in 43 appearances, so the North East Wales League Division 2 side are certainly delighted to have Massey back on board.

On Saturday, he hit all six goals in the Rec’s 6-2 victory at Holywell United – his strikes coming on 45+1, 59, 67, 77, 80 and 81 minutes.

On August 13, 2024, Massey scored seven goals for Lex in a 10-0 North East Wales Premier Division victory over Ruabon Rovers. He notched 22 league goals for the Law last term.
