Bangor City Stadium confirm groundshare deal with Trearddur Bay FC

It’s now official – Bangor City Stadium have reached an agreement with Ynys Môn club Trearddur Bay FC for a ground share arrangement for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.

As part of this agreement, Trearddur Bay will play their home fixtures at Bangor City Stadium throughout the season.

A stadium spokesman said: “We are proud to support another North Wales club and look forward to welcoming them to our facilities.

“To ensure the highest standards are maintained, for all three teams that call the stadium home: Bangor City 1876, CPDM Bangor and Treaddur Bay, additional measures will be implemented to preserve the quality of the playing surface and stadium facilities. We will announce some further news regarding these measures in the coming days.

“We believe this partnership will benefit both clubs and the wider football community, and we look forward to a successful season ahead.”

Grassroots North Wales reported on the groundshare plan in May, but the agreement was officially confirmed by Bangor City Stadium this week.

It means two teams in the same league sharing a ground – with CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 and Trearddur Bay both competing in the tier 3 Ardal North West this season.

Such an arrangement is not uncommon in North Wales football.

Bay are currently working on establishing a site for a new football ground on Anglesey.

Bangor City Stadium Director, Lee Dixon, commented – “We have reached an agreement for the 2025/26 season with Treaddur Bay FC and this should hopefully support them while they are exploring all the possibilities for a new ground. We look forward to working with their chairman Richard Lennon & the Treaddur Bay FC board and wish them all the all best for the season ahead.”
