North Wales T20: Bangor, Brymbo and Menai Bridge all victorious at the double

Bangor (4) 115-1 Northop (0) 114-8
Ruthless Bangor showed no mercy as they dished out a nine-wicket thrashing to their visitors from Flintshire.
Two early blows from Jamie Grimshaw soon had the away side reeling and it needed decent efforts from Elliot Colclough (30) and Jamie Northcott (23) to help Northop set a respectable 114-8 off 20.
Aayushman Goswami took 3-15 and Grimshaw 2-28 for the home side, who then breezed to 115-1 from 15.5.
Franco Kasner finished 59 not out and Nadeem Rehman hit 43 for the hosts.
Bangor (4) 139-4 Gwersyllt Park (0) 138-4
Rob Marshall produced a captain’s knock of 57 not out to guide Bangor to a six-wicket triumph at Ty Newydd.
Gwersyllt Park won the toss and batted, setting a useful 138-4 from 20, Kastun Stoute 45 and skipper Jamie Griffiths 28 no, Aayushman Goswami 2-19 for the hosts.
Bangor were struggling on 64-4 before Marshall’s 45-ball half-ton and Jamie Grimshaw (29 no) formed an unbroken partnership of 75 to see the Citizens over the line in the final over. Iroshan De Silva notched 2-22 for the Wrexham side.
Bethesda (0) 103-10 Northop (4) 107-1
Northop took a ridiculous 8.2 overs to reach the 104 needed for victory at Parc Villa, which they achieved by a nine-wicket margin.
Bethesda were bowled out for 103, Carwyn L Williams 35 and Daniel Oshyer 26, Bart Ryan-Beswick 3-9, Romano Franco 3-10 and Josh Griffiths 3-25 for the visitors, who then raced to 107-1, Ryan-Beswick 78 not out off 31 balls, including nine fours and five sixes.
Bethesda (0) 88-9 Gwersyllt Park (4) 155-4
A 67-run win for Park.
The visitors rattled up 155-4, Jack Billington 73 and Ethan McCarthy 40, Sushant Thapa 2-19 for Pesda, who were limited to 88-9, Nicholas Parry 31, Liam Lynes 2-5 and Kastun Stoute 2-27 for the victors.
Denbigh (0) 123-6 Brymbo (4) 129-1
Chris Taylor’s unbeaten 68 did most to direct Brymbo to a nine-wicket away caning of Denbigh.
Put into bat, the hosts posted 123-6 off 20, skipper Harrison Jones 61 not out, Ralf Fernando pocketing 3-21 for the Steelmen.
Brymbo reached the winning post on 129-1 off 16.5, Taylor well supported by Sam Aplin (30) in an opening stand of 92.
Menai Bridge (4) 162-8 Conwy (0) 160-9
Conwy finished up just three runs short of what would have been a notable victory over their Anglesey hosts.
Electing to bat, Bridge chalked up 162-8 from 20, opener Dion Holden 52, Dion Owen 26, Patrick Jelley causing the hosts to wobble with a fine 4-27, Oliver Da Costa 2-29.
Conwy finished on 160-9, Lalmon TV an outstanding 73 off 50 balls, including seven fours and four sixes, Shaun Davies adding 40. That pair put on 106 for the third wicket.
Bridge’s bowlers turned the tables, skipper Ashley Wood taking 3-25 and Patrick Glover 2-22.
Menai Bridge (4) 199-5 St Asaph (0) 155-9
Ayush Verma hit an awesome 87 off 53 balls in Menai Bridge’s mammoth 20-over total of 199-5.
The Canadian, who cracked nine fours and two sixes, was well backed by Edward Gadsby (36), Gethin Roberts (25) and Robbie Jones (24), Tim Cloete 3-33 for Saints.
Asaph gave it their best shot in response, but finished up 155-9, Kyle Williams 53, Matty Ryan 46 and Dan Evans 26, Ashley Wood 4-16 and Dion Holden 4-28 for the islanders.
Mochdre (0) 122-10 Brymbo (4) 132-9
Johandre Barnard’s 47 was a key innings as Brymbo celebrated a 10-run win at Mochdre.
The Steelmen registered 132-9 off 20, Richard Deniz adding 29, Andrew Swarbrick gathering 3-15 and Owen Davies 2-32 for the hosts.
Mochdre’s effort ceased at 122-10, Will Evans 34, Chris Taylor notching 3-16 for the visitors, Sam Aplin 2-17 and Deniz 2-23.
Mochdre (4) 175-2 Denbigh (0) 145-5
Skipper Adam Campion smashed 87 not out off 54 deliveries – 12 fours – and Matty Humphreys was unbeaten on 65 off 53 in Mochdre’s formidable score of 175-2.
Denbigh were limited to 145-5, Ranija Abeysinghe 28 and Marko Van Voorst 26, Owen Davies 2-22 for the winning side.
St Asaph (4) 214-2 Conwy (0) 85-10
Saints piled up the biggest total of the day, 214-2 off 20 overs, Mathew Ryan 94 not out from 50 balls – nine fours and five sixes – Kyle Williams 74 and Will Norman 38.
Conwy were bowled out in 14.4 for just 85, Ryan Dunning 2-7, Norman 2-10 and Robbie Prior 2-16 sealing Saints a huge 129-run victory.
