Two teams who could make a significant mark in the season ahead played out a nine-goal thriller on Friday night.

Borough took an early lead through Sion Kelly, but two quickfire goals from Callum Evans and Tomos Hughes saw the visitors go in at the break with a slender 2-1 lead.

In an enthralling game, Borough played some slick football that was way beyond their teenage years.

Both sides created several chances, but it was midfielder Kelly who plundered a second to level the scores.

Wide man Ryan Allsup then gave Borough the lead, but it was short-lived as Llan quickly equalised through Lewis Connor.

With around 15 minutes on the clock, the visitors took a 4-3 lead via Ioan Tudor, but a bullet header from Nathan Walley squared the match.

In the dying minutes, both keepers produced fine saves, but with a draw looming, super sub Daniel Jones skipped past two defenders to poke the ball home.

Llysfaen 3 Skippy 1

Good showing from Llysfaen, their goals coming from new signing Ryan Watson, Ashley Morris and Steve Collins.

It was a pleasing outing for the home side, full of positives with fresh faces being integrated into the team and new ideas.

Faen will compete in North Wales Coast East Division One this season, while Skippy will be part of North East Wales League Division Three.

Hawarden Rangers 0 Prestatyn Town 7

The goals flowed for Prestatyn in Friday’s friendly at The Gladstone.

Casey Faulkner’s double gave the Seasiders a 2-0 interval lead and things got better for the visitors after the break.

New signing Kai Wallis scored twice, one an absolute cracker, Ellis Blench and Jake Walker both found the net, and a Trialist also made the scoresheet.

FC Queen’s Park 3 Buckley Town 1

Ryan Jakovlevs, Ryan Kershaw and Ethan Simpson scored the goals as the Park enjoyed a morale-boosting win over Cymru North side Buckley.

Asa Hamilton’s Bucks were playing a second friendly in two days, having won 6-0 at Lex the previous evening, Max Moore with a hat-trick and Scott Davies a double.
